I am writing this blog to highlight the plight of my son who is stuck in Vietnam.
A British citizen, 6 months old and being refused a Passport by the Government.
To quickly highlight, apparently to ensure he isn't a terrorist (at under 6 months of age!?) I as the father need to have a face to face interview with the Passport office.
They are refusing this due to Covid (despite the rest of the country being told to go back to work....and even being financially incentivised to go out to restaurants and socialise).
Just weird.
No alternative solution such as something called a 'Video interview'
The rest of the World seemed to embrace Zoom and Teams pretty quickly. Apparently this is too difficult for the dummies at the Civil Service - being lazy is the better option even if it means putting a 6 month old baby at risk.
Oh or how about a perspex screen....that seems to stop Covid quite well.
But no
Apparently that is too difficult to implement even though supermarkets seemed to enable this in about 1 week.
Seriously??
